Proudly Achieving Together

Head’s Welcome

Headteacher’s Welcome

At Oldhill we offer a warm welcome to all. Our website aims to give you an insight into life at Oldhill Community School; what we do and what you feel is important to us.

We are a fully inclusive, two form entry school with a Children’s Centre and an Autistic Resource Unit. We offer places for children from 6 months to 5 years in our child care facility and education for 3 to 11-year-olds in the school. We have a diverse community and we take pride in our differences. We value every child as an individual and respect our multi- cultural and multilingual community.

A caring attitude is fostered in our children. Our aim is to support them to have mutual respect, self-confidence and self-discipline. Great emphasis is placed on personal, social and emotional development so our children can thrive in the modern world and feel secure in who they are.

We are a happy school where the atmosphere is conducive to learning and high attainment. So that all children enjoy their education and have fun while learning we strive to build a creative curriculum. The children enjoy activities which enhance their imagination.

High expectations for behaviour and attendance ensure that the school is a safe place to be. We encourage strong links with our parents and the local community and believe in forging partnerships to enable the school to thrive in all areas. We believe that parents are the first teachers of the children and that, by working together, we can provide children with a great education. We look forward to preparing your child well for their future life and will work closely with you to achieve the best.

During our last Ofsted report we achieved a ‘GOOD’ judgement with outstanding features for ‘Leadership’ and ‘Behaviour and ‘Safety’.   Ofsted made the following comments about our school in December (2013):

‘Consistently good teaching provides pupils with memorable experiences and opportunities.’

‘Pupils at Oldhill adore coming to school and pupils have excellent attitudes to learning.’

‘Vibrant classrooms and corridors contribute to a very stimulating atmosphere for learning.’
