Developing healthy children is an important part of life at Oldhill. Whether it is through encouraging healthy eating, the development of sport and active lifestyles or the nurturing of healthy minds you can rest assured that our staff are doing everything they can to help your children.

 

The table below illustrates just some of the things available to the children to help their healthy development.

Fruit provided for children in Nursery to Year 2 at break time

An engaging PE curriculum offering children a range of different sports activities
A variety of active after school clubs are available for children to access including KS1 & KS2 football, athletics, street dance and ballet
Daily active lunchtime activities
Cycling lesson for Year 4, 5 and 6 from beginner to confident on road. Balance bikes in Early Years playground and taster sessions Year 1 & 2.
Physical activities in our breakfast club 3 times a week
We provide play equipment and areas which promote physical activity during break times

Personal, Social, Health, Citizenship and Emotional education (PSHE)
Curriculum work centred around child development
Strong development of Social, Moral and Cultural development
Weekly circle time where children have the chance to talk about their feelings and emotions
School councillor in every class
Weekly praise assembly to recognise and reward children
Worry box in every class
Golden ticket table for excellent behaviour
First Aid lessons for year 1-6
